Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CookingSnap website and application (the "Service"), operated by Martin G., a self-employed individual (OSVČ) registered in the Czech Republic ("CookingSnap", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

CookingSnap is a web application that converts cooking videos into structured recipes with timestamped steps, and lets you save recipes, build collections, and create shopping lists. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Do not share your account or let others use it. Notify us promptly at support@cookingsnap.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Free and Paid Plans

The Service offers a free plan and a paid subscription ("Pro"). The free plan includes a limited number of recipe generations per 30-day period. The Pro plan unlocks additional features as described on our website. We may change the features or limits of any plan, and we will provide reasonable notice of material changes.

4. Payments and Billing

Paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for all purchases. By subscribing, you authorize Lemon Squeezy to charge your chosen payment method.

Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (for example, monthly) at the then-current price until cancelled. Prices may change; we will notify you before any change affects you. All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain Pro access until then. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. Any refund requests are handled in accordance with the policies of our payment provider and applicable consumer protection law.

6. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
• attempt to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
• copy, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law;
• use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or overload the Service in a way that harms its operation;
• resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent; or
• upload or transmit unlawful, harmful, or infringing material.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Third-Party Content

The Service processes publicly available video content to generate recipes. We do not own, control, or endorse third-party content, and we are not responsible for its accuracy or availability. Your use of third-party platforms (such as YouTube) is subject to their own terms. Recipes generated by the Service are provided for general informational purposes and may contain inaccuracies; always use your own judgment when cooking, and be mindful of allergies and food safety.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by or licensed to CookingSnap and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You retain any rights you have in the content you create, such as your own saved recipes and collections.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated recipes will be accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CookingSnap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if providing the Service to you is no longer viable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, though certain provisions (such as those on intellectual property and liability) survive.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the competent courts of the Czech Republic, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
