Privacy Policy
Effective date: 29 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CookingSnap ("CookingSnap", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and application (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently and in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.
1. Who We Are
CookingSnap is a web application that converts cooking videos into structured, easy-to-follow recipes. The Service is operated by Martin G., a self-employed individual (OSVČ) registered in the Czech Republic.
Business ID (IČO): 08986169
Registered address: Rybná 716/24, 110 00 Prague, Czech Republic
For any privacy-related questions, you can contact us at support@cookingsnap.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture as provided by Google. We use a third-party authentication provider (Supabase) to manage accounts securely.
Content you provide. When you use the Service, we process the video links you submit and the recipes generated from them. To produce a recipe, the video link is sent to our transcript provider and the resulting transcript is processed by our AI provider; your account details are not sent with it. Recipes you save, collections you create, and shopping lists you build are stored in your account.
Payment information. When you purchase a paid subscription, payments are processed by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. We do not collect or store your full card details. We receive limited information such as your subscription status and billing confirmation.
Usage information. We may collect basic technical information about how you access and use the Service, such as your device type, browser, and general interaction data, to operate and improve the Service.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- create and manage your account;
- generate, store, and display recipes, collections, and shopping lists;
- process subscriptions and payments through our payment provider;

- respond to your support requests;
- improve, personalize, and develop the Service; and
- comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you sign up for), your consent (where required, such as for non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the Service), and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service, including:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting;
- Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and subscription management (merchant of record);
- Vercel — application hosting;
- Google — where you choose to sign in with Google;

- Anthropic — AI processing of those transcripts to generate recipes.
These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
6. Third-Party Content
The Service processes publicly available video content and associated transcripts to generate recipes. We do not control and are not responsible for the content of third-party platforms (such as YouTube). Your use of third-party platforms is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@cookingsnap.com. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your data.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
